Mad Men Season 3 Premiere Meanderings

Wow….
So I think I have FINALLY figured out why I adore Mad Men. No amazing new revelations this episode… nothing that left me shocked. But, there was a BLATANT reminder of the obvious. The show makes me be TORN about a character. I love and hate Don Draper so much that I do not know if I would fuck him or kill him. More of the same… yes… but this episode was like an elegant reminder of the feelings I had last season like a toss of cold water in the face. Okay, okay, I get it, I remember!
Don is sweet to his pregnant wife and we think he might have turned a new leaf. Then, he goes and fucks a stewardess. Yes, she came onto him, but for once, he was fairly agressively-persuing her as well. *loathing*
Don catches Sal getting that hot gay action he’s always been craving. Instead of getting Sal fired or ruining his life over it (which could have been accomplished with MINIMAL effort), Don lets it go and shares with Sal, in not so many words, that he doesn’t give a shit about his sexual preference.
Don is a total sweetheart to his daughter.
Yet again, we see EXTREME examples of morality, good and bad, by the same man in one hour. He sucks, no he’s awesome. HOW DO I FEEL about this living moral paradox? Mad Men forced me to wait patiently for the next episode, to see if I can come to an internal resolution as to my feelings for Mr. Draper.
Oh and Pete, STFU. No one cares about your whiney ass.
And it looks like the Brits are really shaking things up.
